THE FEAT
Location: The Himalayas
Dates: From the 23rd August 1997 to the 26th August 1998
Objetives: To summit in 12 months the fourteen highest peaks on Earth as an offering for the Peace among the Nations in the World and the preservation of the environment.
Outcomes: They make the ascent of 8 mounts above 8000m and they reach 5 summits: Dhaulagiri (8172 m), Cho-Oyu (8201 m), Broak Peak (8047 m), Gasherbrum II (8035 m) y Hidden Peak (8068 m); and they equal the worldwide record of more 8000m peaks in eleven months.
They establish live transmissions from the Himalayas for the television channels, thanks to the technology of Intelsis, appearing on the TV channel all over the world and in the prestigious magazine National Geographic.
Protagonists: José Antonio and Jesús Martínez Novas, well-known Spanish mountaineers who had already summitted the Aconcagua, Everest and other important mounts.
